Le Havre Banner
The program will deliver Maser's level content on several business topics related to International Business and Culture. The course is 50% classroom and 50% cultural visits. 


Graduate students have the option of enrolling in 3 URI credits for MBA 591, MBA 592, MBA 560, MBA 536 or MBA 562.
Undergraduate students can choose to enroll in 3 URI credits of BUS 460, BUS 462, BUS 491 or BUS 492.

Coursework will be supplemented with Five site visits including LeHavre Port, Paris, Rouen, and the WW2 beaches.


Students will stay in double-occupancy rooms while in France. Breakfast and lunch will be provided.


Program Fee: $3,400

Douglas N. Hales is Professor of Operations & Supply Chain Management at the University of Rhode Island. His primary teaching expertise is Global Supply Chain Management and Lean Six Sigma. His research interests include Global Port Competitiveness and Applied Process Improvement. He has won numerous awards in both areas including the Beta Gamma Sigma Professor of the Year Award, the Best Graduate and Undergraduate Teacher Awards, and the Researcher of the Year Award, among others. Since 2004, he has 26 referred publications and 40 conference international papers and presentations in seven countries.

Mehmet Yalcin

Mehmet Gokhan Yalcin held various engineering and managerial positions prior to joining academia. He is a certified Black Belt in Lean/Six Sigma (LSS) and publishes in peer reviewed academic journals. Recognized with research and teaching awards, he conducts research relevant to Supply Chain Ambidexterity (SCX), teaches Operations and Supply Chain Management, Global Supply Chain Management, and Management Systems Analysis to students and practitioners.
