This is an international course fully devoted to the factors that impact the design and management of Global Supply Chains. It covers the strategic relationships necessary for Supply Chain Management as well as the tactical activities of Logistics, Purchasing and Operations from a global perspective. Through the use of real world cases, text and lectures, the course examines how these activities interact with other business functions (i.e. Marketing, Information Systems, etc.).

Students will spend two weeks in Udine, Italy, hosted by the University of Udine. Udine is both a city and province in northeastern Italy, in the middle of the Friuli-Venezia Giulia region, between the Adriatic Sea and the Alps.


Students will earn 3 URI credits for BUS 460: Global Supply Chain Management (3 credits), MBA 562: Global Supply Chain Management (3 credits) or MBA 591: Directed Study (3 credits). This program is open to both graduate and undergraduate students.

Course work will be supplemented with various cultural activities including cultural, historical and Industry related site visits the cities of Udine, Trieste, Venice and Pordenone in Italy along with a visit to the Italian Alps.


Students will stay in double-occupancy rooms while in Italy. Breakfast, lunch and dinner will be provided.
