This program engages students to develop business analytics and global business competency skills in a supply chain context. With visits to Korean technology and manufacturing companies,  students will be able to explore the supply chain management industry from a global multi-dimensional perspective and understand how recent technological, political and economic developments are shaping supply chains globally. Students will also experience various issues of current and emerging data management and analytics topics in relation to business supply chains.

The course will involve spending two weeks in Busan and Seoul, Republic of Korea and studying together with Korean students from the Korea Maritime and Ocean University (KMOU) and Korea Institute of Ocean & Science Technology (KIOST). This will allow both American and Korean students to learn from each other and URI students will have the opportunity to hear guest lectures from Korean professors as well. Busan is a key port for the global supply chains and hosts many companies in technology, auto and other industries. Students will be able to have first-hand experience in how IS and supply chains are managed in Asia versus the U.S. Studying these topics in a Korean context will be valuable for students and they will get the first-hand experience to be a global business professional with real Korean business exposure. The course will further be culturally enriched by weekend excursions to include visits to historical and natural sites in Busan and Seoul, Korea.

During the program, students will earn 3 URI credits for one of the courses listed below.
