Off-Campus Study (OCSG 997)

According to URI Graduate School Manual, students who wish to retain their URI student status or register for credits to be counted toward a degree are required to enroll in OCSG 997, 998, or 999 (Off Campus Study – Graduate 4.71) while conducting academic work outside of the U.S.   The international academic activity will determine what OCSG section the student will register in.

An OCSG registration is used to retain the student matriculation status to comply with URI Graduate School policy.  In addition, OCSG status facilitates matters related to health insurance, financial aid, visa status (international students only), etc. when applicable

OCSG 997 Explanation:
OCSG 997 is for graduate students engaged in approved off-campus experiences, such as research activities, in the Fall or Spring semesters. Typically the students are not earning credit.
