CORAL REEF CONSERVATION
January 4 - January 15, 2020
 
 
Students will focus on important global marine conservation issues. They will learn to employ the interdisciplinary theory for conservation and develop the practical SCUBA-based skills to solve real conservation problems. This will be an experiential, problem-based learning class in the purest sense.

Bonaire is a Caribbean island located off the north coast of South America. Along with Aruba and Curaçao, it makes up part of what is known as the ABC islands.
 

ACADEMICS

Students will earn 3 URI credits in NRS 475 - Coral Reef Conservation. This program is open to students in all academic disciplines; however, students must hold a basic open water scuba certification. 

ACCOMMODATIONS

Students will be residing at the CIEE (Council for International Educational Exchange) research station while in Bonaire. Breakfast, lunch and dinner will be provided.
